The Procopio Companies (TPC) is a growing ground-up multifamily developer based in Middleton, Massachusetts. Our residential projects range from $12mm-$125mm in and around southern New England. TPC is a vertically integrated firm, with development, construction management and asset management in-house.

Candidates must pass pre-employment drug screening, and will be enrolled in a random testing program.

Construction Superintendent

This important role is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and directing all field activities to assure a specific project is successfully completed on schedule and within budget. The initial project for this role is a two-building 100-unit luxury apartment community on the North Shore.

The Construction Superintendent supervises crews and equipment, coordinates installation of all trades work, administers good construction safety practices on all on-site activities, and ensures that the project schedule is met. The Superintendent also maintains the job site office and proactively assists the Principals with project close out and commissioning.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates, directs and supervises all construction activities.
  • Directs all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
  • Maintains construction schedule, identifies and solves problems.
  • Orders materials and schedules inspections as necessary throughout the process.
  • Maintains positive relationships with customers, subcontractors, vendors and other employees.
  • Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices and immediately rectifies job site hazards.
  • Maintains an organized job site construction office.
  • Creates and maintains job files and logs.
  • Assists Principals bid packages, RFPs and RFIs.
  • Define and delegate responsibilities and set goals for subcontractors
  • Coordinate engineering and municipal inspections as required.

  • ‪In-depth knowledge of the construction industry and construction specifications, building materials, methods, procedures. and the applicable building codes and regulations.
  • ‪Professional, organized, self-starter with strong supervisory skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.‪Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze problems and make sound decisions in a timely manner based on objectives, risks, implications and costs.
  • ‪Ability to interface with clients and lead meetings.
  • Strong building knowledge of all subcontractor trades, and a demonstrated ability to manage trades.
  • ‪Excellent attention to detail with emphasis placed on quality.

Qualifications:

  • ‪Must hold an active unrestricted Massachusetts CSL
  • Must have OSHA-10; OSHA-30 preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years construction industry experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering discipline preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects and budgets from $1m-$20m
  • Experienced in scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control, and production of all phases of residential multi-family construction.
  • ‪Must be able to read, interpret and coordinate drawings and specifications.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
  • Experience or competence in BuilderTrend, PlanSwift, AutoCAD, and Revu is a plus.‪Experience using mobile devices for project management.
